Air Baltic announce new route to Dublin for 2019

Latvian airline Air Baltic has announced that it will be starting a new service between Riga and Dublin from March 31, 2019. The flights will take place four times per week, with ticket prices starting from €39.

Speaking in Riga at the announcement of the new service Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of Air Baltic said “We are glad to offer our guests regular flights to Dublin. This route has strong demand for years now and we are very happy that we can add Dublin to our expanding route portfolio. Air Baltic passengers now will have direct flights between the two cities with the new Airbus A220-300 aircraft for very attractive prices and with business class level of service.”

Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison, said he was delighted to welcome Air Baltic back to Dublin Airport. “This new service to Riga will further enhance the connectivity between Ireland and Latvia and is good news for passengers as it will offer additional choice and convenience.”

When booked on the route, Air Baltic passengers will be able to add a fresh meal to their booking starting from 7 EUR. In addition passengers always receive free hand luggage and a personal item allowance that can be carried onboard. This is not the first time Air Baltic served Dublin, it has previously done so when it operated the Boeing 737-500 aircraft in 2003. Air Baltic acquired the first three Boeing 737-500’s that were operated by Aer Lingus. Air Baltic currently operates a fleet of eight Boeing 737’s, 11 De Havilland DHC Dash-400 and have recently received their 14th Airbus A220-300 aircraft (Previously known as the Bombardier CS300). Air Baltic currently operates to over 70 routes from Riga, Talinn and Vilnius to destinations in Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East.

The new service to Dublin will be operated by the Airbus A220-300 and will depart Riga at 07.30am, arriving in Dublin at 08.35. The return flight will leave Dublin at 09.15 with a 14.10 local time arrival into Riga. The flights will be operated on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and can be booked via their website at www.airbaltic.com
