Updated North Runway Operating Hours

Dublin Airport has been gradually integrating the new North Runway into airfield operations on a phased basis, with the current hours of operation being 9 am to 8 pm. The next and final phase of integration will see the hours of operation extended from 4th July with the runway opening at 07:00 local and closing at 23:00 local. This will allow the runway to be available for part of the first wave of departures each morning. Since the summer season began, taxi times for departure have exceeded 30 minutes on most mornings due to congestion as all aircraft were required to depart from the South runway (28L / 10R).

During dual runway operations with westerly winds, runway 28L will be used for arrivals and runway 28R used for departures. With easterly winds, runway 10L will be used for arrivals and Runway 10R used for departures.

South Runway Maintenance

In addition, Dublin Airport’s South Runway (10R/28L) is being temporarily withdrawn from service to facilitate essential maintenance works from 11:30 pm to 04:30 am for four consecutive nights between Monday, 10th July and Thursday, 13th July. During the period in which the South Runway is closed, North Runway (10L/28R) will be used for operations.

Maintenance works and runway operations are subject to weather and if conditions are not suitable, they will be rescheduled to take place as soon as possible thereafter. It is currently anticipated that the next round of essential maintenance works will take place in September.
