The Special Day of Flying held annually at Newcastle Airfield, Co. Wicklow, gives children with disabilities and their families the opportunity to take a flight in a small aircraft. The event has grown and grown over the years thanks to the dedicated organisers, volunteers and of course the aircraft owners and pilots that donate their flight time. On the ground, a range of activities are also available for the children to enjoy. Unfortunately this year the poor weather prevented flights from taking place but the event went ahead with activities on the ground. Here’s a video from the organisers of the work that went in behind the scenes to get everything ready. Well done to all!
