Vueling to End Cork and Shannon Flights

The low-cost airline, Vueling is to cease its flights from Paris-Orly to both Cork and Shannon in June. The Spanish airline has been operating twice-weekly flights to Cork since November 2021 and to Shannon since last September. The Shannon Airport Group has expressed disappointment at the decision by Vueling Airlines to cease operating its service to Paris Orly Airport from June 14th. In a statement released to Flying In Ireland said, “We are disappointed that Vueling Airlines will cease its Paris service from both Shannon and Cork Airports in June. We understand the reason for this is in relation to capacity issues at Orly Airport. The route launched here at Shannon last September during the winter season and had been growing in popularity in recent months, signifying the demand for the service. Our team worked hard to secure this destination for the region, and we will continue to work with Vueling Airlines to secure further destination options in the future. We are seeing strong recovery due to pent-up demand for travel. Our 2023 summer schedule offers 32 destinations from Shannon Airport to 11 countries across Europe, the UK, and USA, and we will now be exploring alternative opportunities with other airlines to provide a Paris service for our passengers. We would advise customers booked to fly to Paris from Shannon with Vueling after June 14th, to contact the airline directly.”
