NHV Group Win Irish Offshore Contract
Belgian based NHV Group has been awarded a contract by PSE Kinsale Energy Ltd in support of the decommissioning of the Kinsale Gas Field platforms. The transfer flights towards the Stena Spey drilling rig, about 50 km off the south coast of Cork, are expected to start in April 2021 for a duration of six to eight months. The contract will be undertaken by the Danish branch of the NHV Group using a German registered AW-139 helicopter.
Speaking about the new contract, Lars Skov, Managing Director for NHV AS and Group Commercial Manager said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Kinsale Energy on this project and feel confident that its offshore workforce will appreciate our passion for safe and reliable operations. I am also proud that within a month’s time, our team has established a fully operational base in Cork. Although based in Ostend, Belgium the NHV Group operate out of many bases across Europe and Africa with a staff of over 500 people and a fleet of over 60 helicopters from Airbus, Leonardo and the McDonnell Douglas MD900/902. The company specialise in Offshore Energy Support, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Maritime Services, Search and Rescue (SAR), offshore Wind Farms and Harbour Pilot Services. The company has its own in house maintenance facilities and they are an Approved Training Organisation. For the duration of the contract in Cork, the ground handling and hangarage will be provided at Weston Aviation’s state of the art facilities.
