Dublin Airport Passengers Down 89% in July
Dublin Airport has announced that just over 381,000 passengers passed through Dublin Airport during July, which is an 89% drop in numbers compared to July last year. Just over 5.7 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first seven months of this year, which is a 70% decrease compared to the same period last year. The impact of COVID-19 has resulted in 13.25 million fewer passengers using Dublin Airport so far this year.
Passenger numbers dropped by 86% from Europe, 91% from the UK, 96% from North American and also 96% drop from the Middle East. In some positive news, both Air France and KLM have started to increase their service to Dublin which now include an overnight service to allow passengers arrive early to make connections in Paris and Amsterdam respectively. Delta Airlines and Finnair have resumed their flights to Dublin since the COVID-19 lockdown forced the suspension of their flights last March. Charter airline TUI is now expected to start a reduced summer season of routes starting next week
