CDB Aviation Leases Four A320neo Aircraft to Marabu Airlines

CDB Aviation, the Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., has signed lease agreements for four Airbus A320neo aircraft with Estonia-based leisure carrier Marabu Airlines during the Dubai Airshow 2025.

Headquartered in Tallinn, Marabu serves the German leisure market from bases in Hamburg, Leipzig, and Nuremberg, offering flights to popular destinations across Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.

Jie Chen, CEO of CDB Aviation, commented: “We’re delighted to support Marabu’s fleet expansion with these modern, fuel-efficient A320neos, which will help the airline meet rising travel demand and strengthen its operations for the long term.”

Configured with 180 seats, the A320neos will bolster Marabu’s growth strategy and route network. With these additions, Marabu’s fleet will increase to 12 aircraft.

Marabu CEO Axel Schefe added: “The new aircraft enhance our operational efficiency and help us maintain a consistently high travel experience across our routes. They also support our long-term plan to offer a reliable, comfortable journey for our guests.”

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
