Rush Air Display Airspace Restrictions

The IAA has published details of a Temporary Flight Restriction that will be in place on Sunday, 3rd of August for the Rush Air Display. The restrictions are within the Dublin CTR, so are unlikely to cause any inconvenience to general aviation traffic. The restrictions are as follows:

Lateral limits:    Point 53º34’00.00” N, 006º05’20.00” W to Arc of 2.08 NM radius centred on 53º31’57.33” N, 006º04’48.67” W to Point 53º29’53.82” N, 006º04’26.13” W to Point 53º29’49.86” N, 006º14’10.37” W to Arc of 0.5 NM radius centred on 53º30’20.00” N, 006º14’16.00” W to Point 53º30’52.34” N, 006º14’15.48” W to Point 53º34’00.00” N, 006º05’20.00” W
Vertical limits:SFC to 2000FT AMSL
Duration:The period of the restriction shall be from 1345 UTC to 1645 UTC on Sunday 03rd August 2025.  

The Purpose of the TRA:

The purpose of the TRA is to ensure the safety of aircraft operating at the Rush Air Display, and of other aircraft operating in the vicinity of Rush in the periods cited.

Airspace Classification & Communication Service:

The airspace contained within the TRA shall be classified as ICAO Class G. Unless otherwise advised by the Flying Display Director, aircraft operating at the air display shall use Air/Ground Frequency 119.600MHz, and act in accordance with information provided by the Flying Display Director.

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
