ASL Aviation Holdings and Reliable Robotics Corporation, a leader in autonomous aircraft systems have announced a collaboration to explore the use of automated aircraft. Together, the companies will select a suitable aircraft for Reliable’s Remotely Operated Aircraft System with an initial focus on large twin-engine turboprop freighters. ASL and Reliable will jointly assess the demand for remotely operated aircraft in Europe. Both companies are part of the ASL CargoVision Forum, which brings together those engaged in the development of sustainable aviation technologies. In addition to remotely piloted air cargo services, the companies will evaluate aircraft suitable for remotely piloted humanitarian operations.

Commenting on the collaboration, ASL Aviation Holdings Director, Hugh Flynn said, “This collaboration between ASL and Reliable is anchored on a common purpose to fully evaluate how remote and single pilot technologies can be developed and used to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective cargo and passenger services. At ASL we are looking at how new technologies will change and improve aviation, and how we can be at the forefront of that change to offer enhanced services to our customers.”
Also commenting was the Chief Business Officer of Reliable Robotics, Myles Goeller said, “ASL and Reliable see urgent market demand for automated systems that will enhance safety, increase utilization of aircraft assets and support sustainability goals. ASL shares our commitment to investing in pioneering technology development to serve industry needs and improve how goods and people are transported.”
In recent weeks, ASL Aviation Holdings has announced the appointment of Eric Vincent as Managing Director of ASL Airlines France. The news comes as the former Chief Executive Officer of ASL Airlines France, Jean-François Dominiak announced his retirement. Commenting on the new appointment, the ASL Aviation Holdings Chief Executive, Dave Andrew said “Eric will bring his many talents and his own flair and fresh thinking to the airline, while also benefiting from the legacy of quality and service that he helped to create during his years leading the commercial team at ASL Airlines France”. And in paying tribute to the work of Jean-François, Dave Andrew said, “spending twenty-two years leading an airline is a remarkable achievement and one that is very unusual in our industry. Jean-François’s longevity and record in the role shows his clear understanding of French and European aviation and his dynamism, flexibility, and innovation in reacting to how the market has changed over the years.”
