SMBC Delivers an Airbus neo to S7
Dublin based leasing company, SMBC has delivered a new Airbus A320neo to S7 Airlines based in Russia. The aircraft was built in 2020 and performed its first flight on 1st October. However, the aircraft, VP-BSL (c/n 10160) was placed in temporary storage at Toulouse/Francazal from November until early March when it was ferried to the Airbus facilities in Toulouse for pre-delivery work and from there it was delivered to Novosibirsk in Russia where S7 have one of their operating bases. This is the sixth Airbus A320neo aircraft to be delivered to S7 from an eight aircraft deal. Another aircraft for S7 has recently performed some pre-delivery flights following a period of storage at Francazal and is expected to be delivered in the coming weeks. The aircraft, VQ-BSF (c/n 10139) was also built during 2020 and performed its first flight on 14th September.
In recent weeks, SMBC have delivered a first Boeing 737-800 to Georgian Airlines. The aircraft, 4L-GTG (c/n 35105) was delivered on 13th April while at Ostrava Airport in the Czech Republic where it was getting some pre-delivery work carried out. This aircraft is a 2008 built aircraft and is the second Boeing 737-800 in the fleet of Georgian Airlines having previously flown for Hong Kong Airlines and Malaysian Airlines in Asia. Georgian Airlines currently have a fleet with the Boeing’s and some Regional Jets totalling nine aircraft operating flights to European and Russian cities from their base at Tbilisi
