@airandspace 50 years ago today, the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 flew for the first time. The DC-10 answered the need for an airplane that was smaller than the huge 747 but could seat 250 to 360 passengers. DC-10 Series 10.

@Airlineroute Sunshine leisure destinations are high on the agenda for US LCC Allegiant Air, with two new seasonal routes to Punta Gorda in Florida. Services from William P. Hobby in Houston, Texas and Chicago Midway International will commence from Nov. 20.

@Airlineroute ULCC Swoop is set to begin operations from Toronto Pearson in October. The ULCC, a subsidiary of WestJet, plans to offer a mix of domestic and international routes.
