Swiss return to Cork in July
Swiss will return to the Zurich Cork route from 5th July with a once weekly service initially. The flight will depart Zurich at 07.25 with an arrival time of 08.45 and the return flight departs from Cork at 09.35 with an expected arrival time of 12.50 in Zurich. The flight will be operated by a 125 seat Airbus A220 aircraft. These aircraft are configured with a two class layout of Business and Economy.
Welcoming the return of Swiss to Cork Airport, Managing Director at Cork Airport, Niall MacCarthy said “We are thrilled to see SWISS take off again from Cork Airport this summer. It is a testament to Swiss International Air Lines confidence in the Cork-Zurich route and the market we have nurtured. We are confident that SWISS will help our efforts to reboot tourism across the south of Ireland and add to Cork Airport’s track record of bringing significant numbers of holiday and business visitors to the South of Ireland region.”
Swiss has begun to rebuild its international network in recent weeks and will be increasing as demand arises. They will have a daily service on the Zurich Dublin route and a twice weekly Geneva Dublin service by early August. In line with Irish Government guidelines, Cork Airport and SWISS require customers to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their entire journey from arrival at Cork Airport, during the flight to exiting the terminal building at their destination. Passengers are advised to bring enough masks for the duration of their journey. Face masks are also available to purchase from vending machines at Cork Airport. This is in addition to a range of health & safety measures implemented by Cork Airport in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, which includes the adherence to social and physical distancing throughout the terminal and the installation of Plexiglas protection screens at customer service desks such as Check-In, Security and Boarding Gates as well as sanitisation procedures to the highest standards.
