Pilots and aviation enthusiasts are being invited to support a worthy cause this August as Tibohine Flying Club hosts its annual Charity Fly-In and BBQ in aid of Childhood Cancer Ireland.

The popular event will take place over two days on Saturday 15th August and Sunday 16th August, with activities running from 11:00am to 6:00pm each day. Organisers are optimistic that favourable weather conditions will allow another successful weekend of flying, fundraising and family fun.

Located in County Roscommon, Tibohine Flying Club has built a strong reputation for welcoming visiting aircraft and creating a relaxed atmosphere for both pilots and members of the public. This year’s event promises “a great family fun day” with a BBQ operating throughout the weekend.

A €5 entry fee will apply, with all proceeds going directly to Childhood Cancer Ireland, supporting the organisation’s advocacy, awareness and family support programmes. Visiting pilots are particularly encouraged to fly in and show their support. According to the event information:

    • All visiting aircraft are welcome
    • Circuits are to the east
    • Beware of the Ireland West Airport Class C stub above the field at 2,500 ft
    • Call on 120.000 MHz at 6 NM

The charity fly-in has become an important fixture on the aviation calendar, bringing together the general aviation community while raising funds for an important cause. Events such as these highlight the generosity and community spirit that continue to thrive within Irish aviation.
