In 2026, the event will be celebrating its 54th year, and it will take place as usual in the last week of September, with flights planned for the morning (7 am) and evening (5:00 pm) for the week, weather permitting.
Balloons, Pilots and Crew from the US, England, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany and Ireland will participate in a week of challenges to find who will be declared the Champions.
Flying In Ireland was launched in 2002 as a resource for Irish pilots and aviation enthusiasts to keep up to date with the latest in Irish related aviation news. Published as a hard copy magazine from February 2005 until January 2015, Flying In Ireland is now a free online resource.
