ASL Group Airline, K-Mile Asia, Welcomes First B767 BCF

Thai express cargo airline K-Mile Asia, part of Dublin Based ASL Aviation Holdings, has announced the introduction of its first B767-300BCF, registered HS-KSA, to its fleet. HS-KSA is K-Mile’s first widebody freighter and will be the first B767-300BCF operator and widebody freighter in Thailand. HS-KSA arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on Friday, September 6th, in K-Mile livery and is expected to enter service in October, connecting Thailand with Southeast Asia, China and India.

The next generation B767-300BCF is a versatile aircraft, allowing long haul, regional and feeder markets, and can carry up to 51.7 tonnes (115,808 pounds) of revenue payload, with 11,884 ft3 available on the main deck (24 pallets) and a further 3,830 ft3 available in the lower hold.

The first K-Mile B767-300BCF freighter will complement its existing fleet of five B737 freighters and is set to offer cost-efficient new opportunities to air cargo customers in the Thai and Southeast Asia markets, with its capability to move both express parcels and larger cargo speedily with a range of up to 6,105 kilometres or 3,305 nautical miles.

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
