A French regional airline, Chalair has announced two routes to Kerry Airport this Summer. The destinations of Brest and Quimper will commence on Saturday, 1st July. The routes will be operated by airlines ATR 72 aircraft. The airline that started operations in 1996 operates a fleet of three ATR-42s and one ATR-72 aircraft. These additional routes will bring to nine routes to be served from Kerry this summer, with flights already announced by Ryanair to Alicante, Faro, Dublin, Hahn, and the UK routes of Luton, Stansted, and Manchester.
Commenting on the announcement of the new routes, the CEO of Kerry Airport, John Mulhern said, “The airline has been serving Brittany for many years and these new routes from Kerry will be the airline’s first in Ireland. They will be a welcome addition to the offerings for passengers from Kerry Airport seeking to explore and relax in a most beautiful region of France, while the French people will now have new routes into Ireland to enjoy all that Kerry and the region has to offer. Ultimately, this will boost the local economy during the peak tourism season and sow the seeds for the development of additional routes from France in the years to come.”
