CDB Aviation has announced the execution of a sale and leaseback transaction for a pair of Boeing 787-9 aircraft with Lufthansa as operator. Lufthansa took delivery of the two widebody aircraft in late 2025 and early 2026. Both aircraft will be operated on long-haul routes and feature the airline’s new Allegris cabin configuration, offering upgraded Business, Premium Economy, and Economy classes.
Commenting on the deal, CDB Aviation’s Head of Commercial, EMEA, Gavan Daly, said, “This sale and leaseback agreement with Lufthansa represents a key transaction for CDB Aviation, as we continue to grow the portfolio with top-tier credits and new technology and liquid assets. While we have recently worked with Lufthansa’s engine leasing arm and have previously sold aircraft to Lufthansa Group’s sister airlines, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings, this marks our first direct leasing transaction with Lufthansa Airlines.”
