Aer Lingus Operates First Direct Flight from Dublin to Cancún

Aer Lingus marked a major network milestone today with the departure of its first-ever direct service from Dublin Airport to Cancún, Mexico. The inaugural flight, operating as EI143 (EI-GCF), departed Dublin at 13:30 on 6th January 2026, opening a brand‑new link between Ireland and the Mexican Caribbean.

The new seasonal route represents Aer Lingus’ first direct entry into the Latin American market, with flights operating three times weekly—Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays—until 29 April 2026. The service is operated by an Airbus A330‑300, offering both business and economy cabins on a flight time of approximately 10 hours and 50 minutes, arriving in Cancún at 19:20 local time.

Originally announced in May 2025, the route forms part of the airline’s expanding winter sun portfolio, tapping into growing demand from Irish travellers for long‑haul leisure destinations. Aer Lingus emphasises Cancún’s blend of golden beaches, clear waters, rich Mayan heritage, and vibrant culinary scene, noting its popularity with honeymooners and families alike.
