Shannon Aviation Museum Launches the Irish Air Corps Collection Online

Irish Aviation Foundation CLG (Trading as the Shannon Aviation Museum) has announced that its project of cataloguing and publishing the Irish Air Corps Collection is complete.

The collection is available to search, browse and view on a new dedicated website, www.irishaviationfoundation.ie. A tremendous amount of work went into this project to make the national collection accessible for all to view, and the Collection would like to give a special thanks to the project team, comprised of Briain and Ruslana from the Museum, Brian Honan and Paul Fry. The project was generously funded by The Heritage Council.

Irish Aviation Foundation CLG was founded in 2015 to continue the good work of Atlantic Air Adventures which, in 2001, began laying the foundations for the first Aviation Museum, Education and Flight Simulation centre accessible to the general public in the Republic of Ireland. Atlantic Air Ventures drove development until 2019, when they began trading and operating as Irish Aviation Foundation CLG t/a Shannon Aviation Museum.

In 2019, the organisation was restructured as a not-for-profit organisation with approved charitable status to ensure the future stability and sustainability of the organisation, which has become an important pillar of aviation education and tourism both locally and nationally.
