Ireland West Airport Launches Winter 2025 Schedule

Ireland West Airport this week launched its winter schedule with 88 weekly flights and a 7% increase in seat capacity. The winter schedule features over 400,000 seats across 11 routes, with an additional 23,000 extra seats added to the schedule compared to last winter. Ireland West Airport expects to serve over 900,000 passengers this year, and customers from across the West, Northwest and Midlands regions of Ireland can enjoy an extensive range of destinations to choose from, including winter sun and UK city break destinations.

This winter, Ryanair will operate flights to 10 destinations across the UK and Europe, adding over 20,000 extra seats to its flight schedule for the winter season compared to 2024, which includes increased frequency on several popular services. Aer Lingus will continue to operate daily flights on its popular service to London Heathrow.

Access to the UK market with Ryanair will remain strong this winter, with the airline operating flights to 7 UK destinations, including Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London (Luton & Stansted), and Manchester. In a further boost to its Liverpool service, Ryanair has introduced a second daily service on Fridays throughout the winter, as well as on Sundays and Mondays in February and March, which will be welcome news for Liverpool supporters and those seeking short weekend city breaks this winter. Furthermore, Ryanair have also added extra capacity on its services to and from Birmingham, London Luton and Manchester for the forthcoming winter season.

For sun lovers, this winter holidaymakers can choose from twice weekly services to Malaga with weekly flights to the Canary Island hotspots of Lanzarote and Tenerife, providing a great choice of sun and sea for holidaymakers looking to escape the winter blues.

Welcoming the launch of the winter schedule, Joe Gilmore, Managing Director, Ireland West Airport, said: “On the back of our busiest summer season on record, we are pleased to see such a robust schedule of services available this winter with our airline partners Aer Lingus and Ryanair. With 88 weekly flights this winter and 18,000 weekly seats available on services to the UK and Europe, it promises to be a very busy winter season for the airport. We are particularly pleased to welcome the addition of over 20,000 extra seats by Ryanair this winter and the addition of extra flights on a number of their popular routes, as well as the continuation of their hugely popular weekly sun services to Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife this winter, providing a major boost for the airport and wider region. The Aer Lingus Heathrow service continues to go from strength to strength off the back of a robust performance during the summer season, with onward connecting traffic to North America, Europe and Australia continuing to grow. We thank Aer Lingus and Ryanair for their continued support for the airport and look forward to a busy winter season”.
