United Airlines has announced a further expansion of its Irish services with increased capacity and number of services for 2026. United Airlines will now offer more seats across the Atlantic to Ireland than any other US Airline. The Chicago – Dublin service will be increased to year-round. The second daily service from Newark to Dublin will also be increased to almost year-round. By making the Chicago – Dublin route available throughout the entire year, United is providing Irish passengers with consistent access to Chicago, one of the largest and most dynamic cities in the United States. Chicago is a significant hub for United Airlines, and this change will allow passengers to connect to various other domestic and international destinations with greater ease. United will operate two daily flights between Newark and Dublin, with one flight using a Boeing 777-200ER and the other operating on a Boeing 757-200. United Airlines anticipates a 50% increase in its seat capacity between Dublin and the United States by 2026, compared to levels in 2024.
The expansion of services between the US and Dublin is part of United’s largest international expansion in its history, adding six new destinations and nine new routes across the Atlantic for customers this summer. United has launched five new flights from its hub in New York/Newark to destinations no other U.S. airline serves, including Nuuk, Greenland; Bilbao, Spain; Palermo, Italy; and Madeira Island and Faro, Portugal. The airline has also added three new routes from Washington D.C./Dulles, including its first-ever flight to Dakar, Senegal operating year-round and new seasonal flights to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy. United is the largest airline in the world, as measured by available seat miles, and flies to more international destinations than any other US carrier. In total, this summer United will offer over 800 daily flights to and from 140 international destinations.

Commenting on the expansion of services, the Director of Sales UK and Ireland at United Airlines said, “This significant expansion further underlines the importance of Dublin within United’s global network. When booking their next US getaway, our customers in Ireland will benefit from even greater travel choices in the winter season, with the possibility to seamlessly connect via our hubs in New York/Newark, Chicago O’Hare, and Washington D.C to over 140 destinations in the Americas.”
Also commenting was the Managing Director at Dublin Airport, Gary Clean said, “More capacity on United Airlines’ services from Dublin to New York’s Newark and Chicago O’Hare airports is great news for our passengers. The move to almost year-round operations for the second daily Newark service and year-round for the daily Chicago flight is a clear signal of the strong demand from our American customers. We look forward to continuing to support United’s success at Dublin Airport.”
