Weston Airport Runway Run

Weston was closed early on Saturday morning to facilitate a Runway Run in aid of local charities. Participants had the option to run or walk either 3km or 5km along the runway. The event also marked the official opening of Hook & Ladder’s new café, called “The 1931”. The sold out event raised money for Celbridge GAA All Stars, who offer a fun, safe, healthy, and social outlet for kids and teens with additional needs and Lucan Special Olympics Club for people with intellectual disabilities who provide activities such as bocce, floorball, senior boys/men basketball, junior basketball and a young athletes programme on a weekly basis. The airport reopened at 09:45 local for normal operations.
