Temporary Restricted Area Over Wicklow this Week

The Irish Aviation Authority has released information about flight restrictions in the vicinity of Wicklow National Park from Monday, March 3rd to Friday, March 7th. The Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) will apply to the flying of aircraft, rockets and

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The purpose of the TRA is to ensure the safety of State aircraft operating within and of other air traffic operating in the vicinity of Wicklow National Park, County Wicklow in the period cited.

The details are as follows:

Lateral limits: 53° 12’ 00” N, 006° 23’ 56” W
53° 10’ 12” N, 006° 14’ 20” W
53° 03’ 00” N, 006° 14’ 24” W
53° 03’ 00” N, 006° 37’ 12” W
53° 11’ 24” N, 006° 32’ 24” W
Vertical limits:SFC to 4000FT AMSL
Duration:The period of the restriction shall be from 0900hrs UTC to 1700hrs UTC daily from the 3rd to the 7th March, 2025.

The airspace contained within the TRA is ICAO Class G and will be restricted to aircraft authorised by The Irish Air Corps. Any exemptions, alleviations or permissions, granted to civil general air traffic by the Authority, are not valid within this Temporary Restricted Area during the period cited. State aircraft, aircraft of the Irish Coastguard Service and HEMS Aircraft Operators employed on an operational mission shall be exempt from the restriction.

In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
