Cork Airport expects to serve up to 33,000 passengers over the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend as travellers avail of the first bank holiday weekend of the new year. Passenger traffic is forecast to be 10% higher than the same bank holiday weekend in 2024, marking a strong start to the year at Cork Airport. The St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend also offers passengers from across the South of Ireland to escape to warmer, sunnier destinations served direct from Cork Airport. There has been significant demand for flights to southern Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands during January. Ski destinations as well have seen strong loads, with direct connections to Munich, Lyon, and Salzburg proving very popular with passengers heading for the slopes this winter. Cork Airport is delighted to welcome numerous visitors from across Europe who are traveling to Ireland for the increasingly popular St Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend. This weekend will feature events throughout the South of Ireland celebrating one of Ireland’s patron saints, known for her compassion and miracles.
