Airspace Restrictions for Electric Picnic – Stradbally, Co. Laois

The IAA has published details of a Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) that will be established over the Electric Picnic Music Festival from 15th to 20th August. The purpose of the TRA is to ensure the safety of aircraft operating into and out of the Electric Picnic Music Festival, Stradbally Hall, Stradbally County Laois and of other aircraft operating in the vicinity of the TRA in the period cited. The restrictions apply to aircraft including Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The details are as follows:

Lateral limits:             Circle radius of 2.0 NM centred on 53° 00’ 33” N, 007° 09’ 58” W

Vertical limits:            SFC to 2000FT AMSL.

Duration:                    The period of the restriction shall be from 0500hrs UTC on Thursday, August 15th to 0800hrs UTC on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024.

The airspace contained within the TRA is classified as ICAO Class G. The TRA is located within the Shannon Flight Information Region (FIR). There is no dedicated communications service within the TRA. Pilots should make note of the close proximity of the EI-P8 Prohibited Area over Portlaoise and the very narrow gap between the two which could funnel VFR traffic and increase the threat of Mid Air Collision.

Full details are available in the notice here.
