Cork Airport expects to welcome 30,000 passengers over the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend. Passenger traffic this bank holiday weekend will be 22% higher than the same bank holiday weekend in 2023, marking a very strong start to the year 2024. As the first bank holiday of the calendar year, St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend provides an opportunity for passengers from across Munster and south Leinster to escape to warmer, sunnier climes – with significant demand for services to southern Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands being experienced during January. Strong load factors have also been reported on ski services, with direct connections to Munich, Lyon, and Salzburg proving very popular with passengers heading for the slopes this winter. This weekend also coincides with the first of Ireland’s away games in the Six Nations Championship and hundreds of Irish fans are expected to jet off to Marseille this Friday, either directly by special charter service or connecting in the hubs of London Heathrow and Amsterdam.

Over the coming days, passengers are advised to arrive 90 minutes before their scheduled flight departure time.
