Nordic Aviation Capital has announced that it has signed a lease agreement for six ATR 72-600 with Air Cairo. The airline, established in 2003 is mainly based in Cairo and currently operates a fleet of 12 Airbus A320s on routes to Europe and the Middle East. The first ATR 72-600 has joined the fleet in recent days and the rest of the new turboprop fleet will join the airline by the end of the year. The first aircraft, SU-BVC (c/n 1156), is a 2014 built machine and has previously flown for Golden Myanmar Airways and was returned to NAC late last year. Air Cairo will use the new smaller fleet on domestic services from their bases in Cairo, Alexandria, Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh airports.
