Genesis Orders Two Boeing 737-800BCF’s

Dublin based aviation leasing company, Genesis Aviation has announced it has entered into an agreement with Boeing to convert two 737-800 aircraft into freighters. The first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) will be completed and ready to enter into service in spring 2022 with a second aircraft ready to enter operations in early 2023. This will allow Genesis to take advantage of the rapidly expanding global e-commerce market and in doing so will enhance the value and extend the life of its 737-800 fleet. Genesis ha a portfolio of 71 owned and managed Boeing and Airbus aircraft spread across 32 customers around the globe. Genesis was established in 2014 by global financial service firm Barings.

Commenting on the deal with Boeing, CEO of Genesis CEO Karl Griffin said, “This new partnership with Boeing will enable Genesis to convert B737-800 aircraft by leveraging our existing portfolio in order to provide solutions to our expanding customer base and serve the growing eCommerce market well into the next decade.”

Also commenting was the VP of Commercial Services Sales at Boeing, Anbessie Yitbarek who added, “As the newest member of the Boeing Converted Freighter family, Genesis joins a growing list of global customers that have chosen the market-leading 737-800BCF. The 737-800BCF offers the volume, payload and range Genesis needs, and does so with superior operating efficiency, lower operating costs and world-class in-service technical support.”
