Ryanair Announce New Route from Shannon
Ryanair has announced a new once-weekly service from Shannon to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. The new service will start on 7th August and will run until the end of the summer schedule in October. The flight will depart from Shannon on a Saturday at 7.00 am, arrive in Las Palmas at 11.05 with a departure time of 11.40 and a 15.45 arrival back in Shannon. Ryanair will be operating 17 routes from Shannon during 2021 which will include three new routes. Alongside Las Palmas, Corfu and Turin will also start for the first time this year. The Shannon to Turin route will start in time for the ski season in December.
Welcoming the new route by Ryanair, CEO of the Shannon Group, Mary Considine said, “As we rebuild from the devastation of the pandemic this is a positive announcement for the region. Ryanair is a valued airline partner of Shannon and this latest announcement, following on from the new Corfu and Turin services, is great news. We have been working closely with Ryanair as we look to an anticipated recovery in demand on foot of the rollout of the EU Digital Covid Certificates and the acceleration of the vaccination programme across Europe. These new services are part of Ryanair’s commitment to reopen its Shannon base which is very welcome. After a hugely challenging year, and with today’s lifting of restrictions for international travel, we look forward to a busier airport with 17 routes to offer our customers,
