AerCap Delivers three EMB-195 E2’s to Belavia

Dublin based AerCap has delivered three brand new Embraer EMB-195 E2’s to Belavia Airlines from Belarus. The airline is celebrated its 25th anniversary on 5th March. Representatives from Belavia received the first of three E195-E2s at a hand-over ceremony at the Embraer factory in São José dos Campos, Brazil on 21st December. The aircraft was registered EW-555PO (c/n 19020042). The second aircraft, EW-563PO (c/n 19020049), of the deal with AerCap was delivered in March with special ’25th Anniversary’ markings and the third (c/n 19020053) is due for delivery in April 2021. The deal for the new Embraer aircraft was signed by Belavia in In February 2020. The new E195-E2’s supplements the carrier’s current fleet of seven E195’s and five E175’s. The bigger E195-E2 has 125 seats (9 in Business Class and 116 in Economy Class), 18 more seats than the airline’s first-generation E195s.

Belavia began flying Embraer Jets in 2012 as part of a fleet modernization plan. The airline serves more than 40 cities in eastern and western Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Central Asia from its hub at Minsk. Belavia is the seventh airline to fly Embraer Jet E2’s. Enlarged wing and new engines allow reducing fuel consumption by 25.4% per passenger seat. The aircraft is also the quietest and eco-friendliest in its class, according to CAEP standards, nitrous oxide emissions were reduced by 35% and carbon dioxide emissions by 50%.

Speaking on the delivery of their first Embraer E195-E2, Anatoly Gisarov, CEO of Belavia said, “‎An important task for the airline is the renewal of the aircraft fleet. The Embraer E195-E2 delivery is an important step towards the modernization of the Belavia fleet, which allows improving the level of the service, and the economy of this type of aircraft. For eight years of collaboration with Embraer we have received and successfully operate twelve aircraft from a Brazilian manufacturer, which are especially valued by our passengers for their comfort and safety. We hope, that the new generation aircraft will win their hearts.”

Also Speaking as Belavia celebrated its birthday and receiving the E2, Philip Scruggs, President of AerCap said, “We congratulate the team at Belavia on the delivery of their latest E195-E2 jet and on their 25th anniversary.”
