Busy January for the ICRR
The Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR) team have had a busy January with a new CEO, Micháel Sheridan, joining the team. On the operations front, January was also a busy time with 39 Missions taking place with over 22 flying hours across Munster.
Micháel has over 20 years in the charity sector and brings with him a wealth of knowledge. He has also completed a Masters Degree in Business and Leadership. Speaking as he joined the team, Micháel said, “I’m delighted to be joining the team at ICRR. As a child I often watched my Mum teaching First Aid classes through the Civil Defence and having worked in a healthcare charity for over thirteen years. I’m thrilled to be joining ICRR at such an exciting time. I firmly believe we have a significant role to play in the delivery of Pre Hospital Emergency Care but we need you to be part of our mission ‘To Save Lives’.”
The ICRR continue with their fundraising as it costs €1.4 million per year to run the Air Ambulance. They are currently looking for volunteers to join their ‘Marching through March’ campaign to commit to taking 10,000 steps every day in March. You can join up on the ICRR Facebook page. The ICRR have received welcome generous donations recently from Tesco Ireland and Emerald Tree Specialists and these will go towards keeping the operations going throughout the year. The ICRR has now carried out over 575 missions since its launch in July 2019 and it expects to carry out a further 550 this year.
