Air Canada to Cut Dublin Route

Air Canada has announced that it is cutting its Toronto to Dublin service as part of a reduction of flights due to the ongoing pandemic. The airline is also cutting a further 1,500 jobs which will bring the total job cuts to around 20,000 or about 50% of its total workforce prior to the pandemic. The cut in the route from Toronto to Dublin is just one of eleven routes from Toronto to be cancelled. A further three from Montreal and Vancouver will also be cut from their route network. The cuts will start to come into force from next week.

Any customers effected by the cancellation of the route will be offered an alternative routing by the airline. Currently, the airline had been operating just one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Toronto to Dublin route per week with a service departing Toronto Pearson airport at 20.55 on Friday evenings and arriving at 08.30 on Saturday morning. The flight is scheduled to arrive this weekend and it will be the last service until 30th April at least according to a spokesperson for Air Canada.
