Loganair has announced that it will operate new services to Ireland from Teeside International Airport in 2021. The new services to George Best Belfast City Airport will start on 1st February and will be operated seven days a week. The service from Teeside to Dublin will start from later in the Spring.

The service from Teeside to Dublin will depart on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 07.00, and arrive at 08.15 with a 09.50 departure and arrival at 11.05 back in Teeside. Flights on Monday thru to Thursday will operate slightly later with a 08.45 departure time from Teeside and a 10.00 arrival time into Dublin.

Flights from Teeside to Belfast will depart at 10.40, arriving at 11.40 with the return flight departing from Belfast City Airport at 12.10 arriving back in Teeside an hour later. Loganair have announced these routes as part of the new base set up at Teeside International Airport where they will operate five new services. As well as the Irish routes, Loganair will also operate to Aberdeen, Cornwall and Jersey from Teeside. All flights will be flown by Loganair’s 49 seat Embraer EMB-145 and all passengers will be allowed to take advantage of 15kg hold luggage plus 6kg hand luggage as standard.

Speaking as the new routes from the Teeside base were unveiled, Loganair Chief Executive Jonathan Hinkles said, “The coronavirus has presented unprecedented challenges to the aviation sector, but despite the setbacks caused by the virus, our airport continues to go from strength to strength and we are already putting the building blocks in place for a strong 2021. It’s fantastic to be back in Teesside and to be able to announce a long-term commitment from Loganair to provide a comprehensive schedule of safe and dependable flights to the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands, symbolised by our newly named aircraft, Spirit of Teesside. We’re confident the news will be most welcome from businesses in the region which depend on connectivity more so than ever as the recovery commences, and also to those looking to get away for a much-needed break in 2021. Customers can rest assured about their health and well-being when travelling too, with our ‘Fly Safe – Simple Steps to Healthy Flying’ programme in place to make our aircraft a Covid-secure way to travel.”
