Aer Lingus Launch Direct Entry First Officer Recruitment

Aer Lingus are offering qualified pilots a fantastic opportunity to join to join the company flying the modern Airbus A320 family and A330 aircraft from their bases in Ireland to over 80 destinations Worldwide. In 2019, Aer Lingus added the new Airbus A321NEO LR to their fleet, which will also provide successful candidates with an opportunity to fly across the Atlantic to destinations in Canada and North America on the longest-range, single-aisle aircraft in the World.

Competitive Remuneration Package
Airbus type rated Pilots start on a package of approximately
€78,500*
*This includes average variable flight associated pay of approximately €18,000

Non Airbus type rated pilots have a reduced package for the first year of approximately

€63,500*
*This includes average variable flight associated pay of approximately €18,000
This does not include a company pension contribution of 21%

Initially you will be operating the A320 Family Aircraft on the European Network. Over time you may have the opportunity to fly long-haul on the New A321 NEO LR and A330 Aircraft.

Applicants must be able to meet the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • A valid EASA issued ATPL (or frozen ATPL)
  • A current ME/IR
  • MCC qualification or exemption
  • EASA Class 1 Medical certificate
  • Provide 2 verifiable references
  • Valid English Language Proficiency level 5 or higher
  • Permanently eligible to live and work in the EU with an unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure
  • Possession and demonstration of the key competencies outlined below

  • Excellent communication skills – fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Proven Interpersonal skills that fit with the Aer Lingus values

Desirable Criteria:

  • Applicants who hold a current Airbus type-rating (A320/A330/A340/A350/A380)
  • Multi-crew commercial experience or 500 hours

  • Can you confirm no tattoos/piercing would be visible when in Aer Lingus uniform?
  • Are you prepared to complete a medical questionnaire & medical examination?
  • Have you been convicted of a criminal offence (ref Criminal Justice Act 2016)
