IASA Aviation Career Expo 2018

Ireland’s largest Aviation Career Expo is landing on the 19th of September in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.

After three years of running successful aviation focused events and conferences, this September the Irish Aviation Student Association (IASA) will host Ireland’s first and largest Aviation Career Expo where top aviation companies and educational institutions will exhibit and it is expected to attract over 1000 students from all over Ireland.

IASA is a non-profit student-led association, which has a mission to educate students about career opportunities within the aviation industry and to enable them to connect with industry professionals through their events such as the Annual Symposium or Career Slingshots.

Since 2015 IASA has grown from strength to strength, earning a considerable amount of recognition among the aviation industry in Ireland. Today IASA is run by a diverse group of 12 highly motivated and dedicated students studying various degrees in different universities and colleges across Ireland. Additionally, IASA has attracted a high caliber of industry professionals to join the team as Industry Advisory Committee (IAC), who advise, support and mentor the IASA Committee Members.

Below Karl Griffin, one of our IACs, highlights his remarks about IASA:

“The IASA team have demonstrated organisational resilience since their inception 3 years ago. They are self organised, highly motivated and delivering on the IASA commitment to raise awareness and facilitate a deeper insight and connection into international aviation for students studying here in Ireland.”

Since inception IASA has reached out to over 3000 second and third level students, grown a newsletter database of over 800 subscribers, attracted over 1000 attendees to events and engaged with over 60 aviation companies based both in Ireland and internationally.

The IASA Aviation Career Expo aims to attract second level students who are looking for opportunities to learn about all aspects of the aviation industry, through third level degrees and apprenticeships, third level students looking for job opportunities and internships in the industry, and fresh graduates who are just about to embark into their own careers. There will be a variety of leading companies from various sectors of aviation such as: airlines, MROs, aircraft leasing, aerospace, professional services, manufacturing, airport operations and aviation startups.

On the day, students will also have the opportunity to polish their CVs with the help of top recruitment and human resource specialists within the aviation industry.
