Job Vacancies at Donegal Airport

As the Airport gears up for a busy summer, they are looking to fill a number of key roles including Ground Handling, Security, Firefighting and Administration duties. If you are interested, please submit your CV to by 1700hrs on Friday 16th February 2018. A shortlist of candidates will be selected and interviews of successful applicants will take place at the airport on the 2nd March 2018. A panel may also be formed from the shortlisted candidates to fill future vacancies if required.

• Third Level Education or equivalent
• Computer Literate
• Ability to successfully undertake extensive training and certification in various subjects related to Airport Ground Handling, Security, Rescue & Fire Fighting and Administration.
• Flexibility in working hours to include shift and weekend work.
• Full Unendorsed Drivers Licence Minimum Category B
• Irish language proficiency


  • Background Criminal Record and Previous Employment check covering the last five years.
  • Physical Capacity – have attained the level of fitness required to undertake all fire service duties*
    * Physical test of Strength, Claustrophobia & ladder climb assessment will be conducted if you are invited to interview and a full medical examination to include hearing and vision will be offered to successful candidates
  • A panel may be formed from successful applicants from which future positions may be filled as required.

About the Author

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
