Aircraft lessor Aviation Capital Group (ACG) has placed the largest order in its nearly 40-year history, signing for 75 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft in a deal that underlines continued confidence in long-term airline demand and fleet renewal.
The California-based lessor announced on 16th October that it had finalised an order with Airbus for 75 A320neo Family aircraft, with deliveries scheduled between 2032 and 2035. The agreement also includes conversion rights between variants within the A320neo Family, providing ACG with additional flexibility to meet future airline requirements.
The announcement carries an Irish connection, with ACG maintaining a Dublin office through ACG Aircraft Leasing Ireland Limited. Based on Baggot Street in Dublin 4, the company forms part of Ireland’s globally significant aircraft leasing ecosystem, which remains a key hub for airline fleet financing and aircraft ownership.
ACG already has a significant presence in the Airbus narrowbody market. As of 30th June 2026, the lessor owned 118 A320neo Family aircraft, and the latest commitment increases its outstanding orderbook for the type to 115 aircraft.
Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG, described the order as a strong statement of confidence in both global aviation growth and the company’s strategic direction.
“ACG’s portfolio strategy is focused on new-technology narrowbody aircraft that are most in-demand with airlines globally. Placing the largest order in our nearly 40-year history is a statement of confidence in the long-term future of air travel and in ACG’s important role as a conduit between airlines, aircraft and capital,” Baker said.
Rob Downes, ACG’s Chief OEM Officer, said the order would strengthen the lessor’s ability to meet continuing airline demand for efficient single-aisle aircraft. “The A320neo Family remains one of the most sought-after aircraft families among our airline customers, supporting both their replacement and growth requirements. This order gives ACG additional capacity to meet that demand, extends our orderbook pipeline into the mid-2030s and positions us for further growth.”
The deal further deepens a relationship between Airbus and ACG that stretches back to 2007, when the leasing company placed its first order with the European manufacturer. Airbus welcomed the latest commitment, highlighting the enduring popularity of the A320neo Family among operators worldwide.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President Sales, Commercial Aircraft, said the agreement would allow ACG to continue supplying airlines with the manufacturer’s latest-generation single-aisle aircraft well into the next decade.
The A320neo Family remains one of the industry’s most successful aircraft programmes. Equipped with latest-generation engines from CFM International and Pratt & Whitney, the aircraft offer up to 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions per seat compared with previous-generation models, while also cutting noise levels by around 50%.
