Dublin air traffic controllers will ensure the safe, and orderly flow of over 800 flights on Wednesday, 22nd of May. The Air traffic control provider, AirNav Ireland, expects to handle up to 60 flights per hour, one every minute at Dublin Airport. The increase is due to the UEFA Europe League Final taking place in Dublin on Wednesday evening. Over 50,000 fans will attend the game, while thousands more are expected to support the finalists Atalanta and Leverkusen in fanzones as part of the Fan Festival. AirNav Ireland has deployed 10 extra air traffic controllers to manage the increased air traffic expected. Dublin Airport’s North Runway (10R/28L) will close at approximately 21:00 on Wednesday until 07:00 on Thursday to facilitate aircraft parking.Â
