Air Canada has announced that it will bring forward the start of its seasonal Dublin to Vancouver service for 2027, offering Irish travellers earlier access to Canada’s west coast and strengthening transatlantic connectivity from Dublin Airport.
The carrier has confirmed that the route will now commence on 31st March 2027, more than a month earlier than originally scheduled. The service had initially been planned to begin on 2nd May, but the revised timetable will allow passengers to travel between Ireland and British Columbia throughout much of the spring period.
Initially, flights will operate three times per week between Dublin and Vancouver from 31st March to 2nd May. From 3rd May onwards, frequency will increase to four weekly services, providing additional capacity as demand builds into the peak summer travel season.
The earlier launch is expected to appeal to a range of travellers, particularly those looking to take advantage of late-season skiing opportunities in British Columbia. Many of the province’s renowned ski resorts, including Whistler Blackcomb, typically remain open into mid to late April, allowing Irish holidaymakers easier access to the region during the final weeks of the winter sports season.
The additional flights will also provide greater flexibility for passengers planning Easter holidays and spring breaks, while offering more opportunities for tourism and business travel between Ireland and Western Canada.
Dreamliner Service
The route will continue to be operated by Air Canada’s flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, one of the most modern long-haul aircraft in the airline’s fleet. The aircraft is configured with three classes of service, comprising 30 Signature Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 247 Economy Class seats.
Passengers travelling on the service can expect complimentary hot meals, full bar service and individual seatback entertainment systems across all cabins. Air Canada also offers a number of family-friendly services, including complimentary family seating for children aged 13 and under travelling with parents or guardians. Younger passengers can also receive children’s activity packs and pre-orderable kids’ meals.
Gateway to Western Canada and Beyond
Vancouver serves as one of Air Canada’s principal Pacific gateways, offering convenient onward connections across the airline’s extensive domestic and international network.
For Irish travellers, the route provides access not only to destinations throughout British Columbia, but also to cities across Western Canada, Alaska, the United States West Coast and numerous destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The earlier commencement of the Dublin service highlights the continued importance of the Irish market to Air Canada and further strengthens the range of long-haul options available from Dublin Airport.
