Kilkeel Fly-In Returns to the Mournes Next Weekend

The Mourne Flying Club is set to welcome pilots and aviation enthusiasts from across Ireland and beyond to its annual Kilkeel Fly-In BBQ at Derryogue Airfield, Kilkeel, on Saturday 18th July. Aircraft arrivals are expected from 1pm, with all aircraft types welcome to attend.

Widely regarded as one of the friendliest events on the Irish general aviation calendar, the Kilkeel Fly-In combines spectacular flying with the stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains and the warm hospitality for which the event has become famous. Once again, the Mourne Flying Club and the Nicholson family will host visitors at the grass airfield, offering a relaxed gathering, a renowned BBQ and the opportunity to meet fellow aviators from across Ireland, the UK and beyond.

Derryogue Airfield features a 790m x 12m grass runway (01/19) at an elevation of 68ft AMSL, with airfield information available on 123.450 MHz. Visiting pilots are encouraged to review the joining instructions published by the organisers before travelling. Avgas and Jet A1 can be made available with prior notification.

The event has built a strong reputation over the years, regularly attracting large numbers of aircraft and visitors. For those looking for a mid-summer flying destination, few locations can match the combination of coastal scenery, mountain views and legendary Kilkeel hospitality.

Further information and pilot joining details are available from the Mourne Flying Club event page.
