Rising Stars Book Launch

On Friday 4th April, Rising Stars was launched at Foynes Flying Boat & Maritime Museum in Co. Limerick. Written by Peter McGarry and Vincent Power, the authors have brilliantly recreated it all in their journey back to the decades that encapsulated the golden age from the birth of flying boats to propeller planes, early jets, jumbos and supersonic Concorde. Readers will experience the high life when flying was all about glamour and glitz, champagne and caviar, gourmet five-star meals, piano singalongs in swish cocktail lounges, comfy beds and quite simply oodles of fun while crossing countries, continents and oceans. The launch was opened by Dr. Matthew Potter, and it was followed by an audio-visual presentation at the cinema theatre.

Peter was the author of the very successful ‘Falling Stars’, a story about aircraft accidents in and around Shannon Airport. Both books are available for sale on Pilot.ie .
