The Irish Aviation Authority has published its draft decision on Dublin Airport’s Winter 2025 capacity, proposing coordination parameters which will be used in the airport slot allocation process. The Winter 2025 scheduling season runs from 26th October 2025 to 28th March 2026.
In light of the recent judgment of the High Court that, pending the determination of associated legal proceedings, the IAA is not to take account of certain planning conditions which limit the ‘combined capacity’ of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 to 32 million annual passengers. As such, they do not propose to implement any seat cap coordination parameter for Winter 2025.
The proposed coordination parameters will support increased competition by allowing for up to 41 additional daily slots to be allocated by the independent slot coordinator, but without degrading the current service quality. That assessment is driven by a number of factors, including enhanced infrastructure such as the new aircraft parking stands at Apron 5H- as well as the runway capacity of the parallel runway system and associated taxiways.
Responses to the draft decision can be made to the IAA no later than 5 pm on Thursday, 24th April 2025.
