As part of the annual global visits by Irish TDs around St. Patrick’s Day, Minister for Arts, Culture, Communications, Media and Sport Patrick O’Donovan visited the Boeing factory in Seattle to highlight Ireland’s support for Boeing aircraft. Ireland through Ryanair and aircraft leasing companies are one of the biggest purchasers of Boeing aircraft showing the value of transatlantic trade between the US and Ireland. The Minister was pictured with Boeing and Ryanair officials in front of a Boeing 737-8200 destined for Ryanair and believed to be EI-IKY.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: “We were delighted to see Minister O’Donovan visit Boeing’s Seattle facility earlier this week as part of his trip to the USA. It was great timing too, as he got to see our 587th 737 aircraft come off the assembly line first-hand. Ryanair is the biggest investor in Boeing aircraft this side of the Atlantic, making continued competitive trade relations between Ireland and the USA fundamental in supporting over 30,000 USA jobs.”
