United Airlines Expands Service Between Dublin and the U.S.

On Friday, United Airlines announced an expansion of its nonstop services between Dublin and the U.S., with a seat offer increase of over 40 percent for summer 2025. With this increase, the airline will be offering its highest-ever capacity from Dublin. Starting from the 29th March 2025, the airline will seasonally double the number of flights between Dublin and Washington D.C., from once to twice daily and will also increase capacity on its Dublin to Chicago O’Hare seasonal service with the introduction of a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, replacing the Boeing 757-200 previously operating this route.

In addition to these services, United offers year-round daily nonstop flights from Dublin to New York/Newark, as well as seasonal daily nonstop services from Shannon to New York/Newark and Chicago O’Hare. United will offer more flights and seats from Dublin than any other U.S. airline for Summer 2025.

United is the largest airline in the world, as measured by available seat miles, and flies to more international destinations than any other U.S. carrier. In total, next summer United will offer 800 daily flights to and from 147 international destinations – including 40 that no other U.S. airline serves.

Onboard Products and Services

The second seasonal frequency from Dublin to Washington D.C. will be operated with United’s Boeing 757-200 aircraft, featuring a total of 176 seats – 16 flat-bed seats in United PolarisSM business class and 160 in economy, including 42 Economy Plus SM seats with added legroom and increased personal space. 

Service between Dublin and Chicago O’Hare will be operated with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft configured with a total of 243 seats – 28 flat-bed seats with all aisle access in United Polaris business class, 21 seats in United Premium Plus SM and 194 seats in economy, including 36 Economy Plus seats with additional leg-room.

During the summer season, United’s nonstop daily services from Dublin to New York/Newark are operated with Boeing 777-200 and 757-200 aircraft. The Boeing 777-200 features 50 all-aisle-access United Polaris business, 24 United Premium Plus premium economy, 46 Economy Plus and 156 economy seats. The Boeing 757-200 features a total of 176 seats – 16 flat-bed seats in United Polaris business class and 160 in economy, including 42 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space. During portions of the winter season, the route is operated with Boeing 767-400ER aircraft featuring 34 United Polaris all-aisle-access business class lie-flat seats,24 United Premium Plus seats, 48 Economy Plus seats and 125 standard economy seats.
