Ryanair Group Fleet Reaches 600 Aircraft

Last Tuesday 20th August, Ryanair took delivery of Boing 737-8200 EI-IKD, which brought the total number of aircraft currently operated by the Ryanair Group to 600. The aircraft was given the appropriate flight number FR600 and the callsign RYR600. The flight time from Seattle was 08:59 and it landed in Dublin at 12:20UTC on Tuesday afternoon. The group’s fleet is made up of 1 x 737-700, 410 x 737-800’s, 162 x 737-8200’s and 27 x A320-200’s. These aircraft are distributed across the five Group Airlines: Ryanair DAC, Ryanair UK, Malta Air, Buzz and Lauda Europe.

The Group of airlines has now operated over 1,000 aircraft since it was established. These include 2 x A320’s in storage, 2 x A320’s sold, 4 x ATR 42’s, 7 x 737-200’s scrapped, 14 737-200’s sold, 6 x 737-400’s sold/returned, 1 x scrapped 737-800 and 357 x 737-800’s sold. The airline also operated Embraer Bandeirante’s, HS748’s and BAC1-11’s.

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
