ALI Global Aviation Sustainability Day

Aircraft Leasing Ireland’s (ALI) ‘Global Aviation Sustainability Day’ conference will take place at The Round Room at The Mansion House on 12th November 2024. The conference will consist of a number of thought-provoking panel discussions on a diverse range of topics, from the latest developments in Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), to the evolution of new technology aircraft by OEMs, and evolving regulation in the industry. This event will provide a high-profile and exclusive platform from which to showcase the work being undertaken in the aviation industry. This event will be attended by a large number of prominent speakers and attendees from across the aviation ecosystem and related industries.

This year’s conference will centre its discussions on the theme of ‘Sustainability, is reality biting’ with sessions focusing on:

Navigating the Skies: The Big Picture of Global Aviation

This session will delve into the macroeconomic, geopolitical, and technological factors influencing global aviation, providing insights into the future landscape of air travel.

Sustainable Financing: Sustainability-Linked Loans are now a reality
This panel aims to explore how Sustainability-Linked Loans (SLLs) are becoming integral to the aviation industry by incentivising airlines and manufacturers to achieve environmental and social sustainability targets, ultimately driving the sector towards greener practices and reduced carbon emissions. 

Fuelling the Future: Innovations in SAF
This panel aims to explore the latest technological advancements and strategies in SAF development, focusing on how these innovations can reduce carbon emissions and drive the aviation industry’s transition to a more sustainable future.  

Spark Sessions – Innovation Runway: OEM Trailblazers
The newly introduced ‘Spark Sessions’ are dynamic 15-minute platforms designed to showcase expertise, ignite innovative thinking, and inspire action among the audience.

Now in its third year the ALI Global Aviation Sustainability Day conference is attended by over 300 senior leaders and expert voices from across the aviation industry including lessors, airlines, regulators, fuel producers, manufacturers, and financiers.

Mark is an airline pilot flying the Boeing 737 for a major European airline. In addition he is also a Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner and Base Training Captain on the B737. Outside of commercial flying Mark enjoys flying light aircraft from the smallest 3 Axis microlights up to heavier singles. He is also an instructor and EASA Examiner on single engines and a UK CAA Examiner. He flies the Chipmunk for the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF). Mark became the Chairman of the National Microlight Association of Ireland (NMAI) in 2013 and has overseen a massive growth in the organisation. In this role he has worked at local and national levels. In 2015, Mark won ‘Upcoming Aviation Professional Award’ at the Aviation Industry Awards sponsored by the IAA. Mark launched this website back in 2002 while always managing the website, he has also been Editor and Deputy Editor of FlyingInIreland Magazine from 2005 to 2015.
