Pilot.ie – Product Of The Week – Pooleys Pitot Head Cover in Weatherproof plastic

“Remove before flight” is a safety warning often seen on removable aircraft components, typically in the form of a red ribbon, to indicate that a device, such as a protective cover or a pin to prevent the movement of mechanical parts, is only used when the aircraft is on the ground. On small general aviation aircraft, this may include a pitot tube cover or a control lock.

Remove-before-flight components are often referred to as “red tag items”. Typically, the ground crew will have a checklist of remove-before-flight items. Some checklists will require the ribbon or tag to be attached to the checklist to verify it has been removed. Red tag items typically include landing gear pins, intake/Inlet blanks, ejector seat pins and pitot tube covers.

Pooleys Pitot Head Covers are conspicuous in design and colour and carry a long tail clearly printed on both sides “REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT”.

Manufactured in weatherproof plastic they completely enclose the pitot head. Fastened by a press button stud.

The Pooleys Pitot Head Cover is this week’s Pilot.ie Product of the Week with 15% off from now until July 8th. Get your discounted head cover here: https://pilot.ie/product/pooleys-pitot-head-cover-in-weatherproof-plastic/
