On Monday 17th June, the largest-ever twin-engine aircraft to visit Ireland West Airport arrived. The Eva Air Boeing 777-300ER, registration B-16703, arrived at 10:54 am following a 14 hour 52 minute flight from Taipei in Taiwan. It will be processed at the EirTrade facility at the airport and eventually broken up.
B-16703 (MSN 32643) is relatively young at just 18 years old. It was delivered new to Eva Air in June 2006 and has operated exclusively for the airline during its career. This is the first B777 disposal for the airline, they have a further 42 in service comprised of 33 passenger variants and nine freighters.
