The Irish Air Corps has announced that several of its historical aircraft will be on loan to the Shannon Aviation Museum, such as the Marchetti, Vampire and Provost. In addition to the aircraft, many of the existing exhibits will include rare and historic engines, propellers, models, photographs and photographic equipment. Some of these aircraft are being moved from Baldonnel due to operational requirements and the need to use some of the space currently occupied by the Air Corps Museum. The move will make the exhibits much more accessible to the general public while raising the profile of military aviation in Ireland.
With a legacy and heritage spanning over 100 years of aviation experience serving the Irish state, the Irish Air Corps takes great pride in preserving and sharing its rich history with the public. By partnering with the Shannon Aviation Museum, the Air Corps continues its commitment to promoting aviation heritage and education within the community.
