The Premier of the People’s Republic of China will visit Ireland between the 16th and 17th of January 2024. The Minister of Transport has directed the Irish Aviation Authority to establish areas of temporary restricted airspace over Dublin City within which flight restrictions shall apply as detailed below. The restrictions apply to all aircraft including unmanned aerial systems.
TRA- Alpha (TRA A)
Lateral limits: Circle radius 3NM centred on 53°19′ 37.6”N 006°13’37.0”W.
Vertical limits: Surface to 2500 feet AMSL, excluding airspace designated prohibited areas EIP18 and EIP11.
Duration: 1500hrs UTC on the 16th of January to 1500hrs UTC on the 17th of January 2024.
Airspace Classification: The airspace within this TRA shall be ICAO Class C as delineated in the Ireland AIP.
TRA – Bravo (TRA B)
Lateral limits: Circle radius 3NM centred on 53°21′ 54.6”N 006°21’35.9”W.
Vertical limits: Surface to 2500FT AMSL, excluding airspace designated for use by the Permanent Defence Forces, within these lateral and vertical limits that is EIR15 when active, and airspace designated prohibited areas EIP18 and EIP11.
Duration: 1900hrs UTC on the 16th of January to 1500hrs UTC on the 17th of January 2024.
Airspace Classification: The airspace within this TRA shall be ICAO Class C as delineated in the Ireland AIP.
Certain aircraft may enter the restricted area. General aviation operations, Non-scheduled commercial air transport aircraft and aerial work aircraft require authorisation. Authorisation should be requested at least 24 hours in advance of departure from the controlling authority of the Department of Justice
All flights that have controlling authority authorisation to enter or depart the TRA are subject to compliance with the following conditions:
- a flight plan shall be filed;
- a transponder capable of responding to Mode A & C interrogations shall be operated, squawking assigned code;
- two-way radio communication with the appropriate AirNav Ireland ATS unit shall be established and maintained; and
- An ATS clearance to enter or depart from within the TRA must be received in advance from the appropriate AirNav Ireland ATS unit.
